Day 13

“When Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, he became angry and was greatly incensed. He ridiculed the Jews, and in the presence of his associates and the army of Samaria, he said, ‘What are those feeble Jews doing? Will they restore their wall? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they finish in a day? Can they bring the stones back to life from those heaps of rubble—burned as they are?’ Tobiah the Ammonite, who was at his side, said, ‘What they are building—even a fox climbing up on it would break down their wall of stones!’” Nehemiah 4:1-3


 We have seen on day 7 and 10 what the enemy tries to do, to stop God’s work. Having heard that the Jews were rebuilding the wall and were well underway, Sanballat now mocks the Jews and their work publicly. He rallies others to join him in his attempt to intimidate the people and ridicule what they are trying to do. If the enemy cannot stop you in private, he will try to do so in public. He will gather others around him to intimidate and humiliate us so that we stop doing God’s will. Our fight is not against flesh and blood but against “spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (see Eph 6:12).
The enemy wants you to believe that you are insignificant and powerless. He will plant that lie into your thoughts and get you to interpret people’s words and actions accordingly. The way we respond to people reveals the root of what we believe about ourselves. The truth is, you are significant and powerful in Christ. You are so valuable to God that He has entrusted you with His very presence and power. Think about it! Even if there are seemingly many voices against you, “Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away” (Song of Songs 8:7). Stand firm in the love of God and your identity in Jesus and reject the intimidation and lies of the enemy. Declare that you are powerful and significant over your life and stand firm in God’s truth. “Resist the enemy and he will flee from you” (James 4:7). Child of God, you are powerful and significant. Walk in this wonderful truth today!

„Und es geschah, als Sanballat und Tobija und die Araber, die Ammoniter und die Asdoditer hörten, dass die Wiederherstellung der Mauer von Jerusalem fortschritt und dass die Lücken sich zu schließen begannen, da wurden sie sehr zornig, und sie verschworen sich alle miteinander, dass sie kommen und gegen Jerusalem kämpfen und Verwirrung anrichten wollten. Wir aber beteten zu unserem Gott und stellten Wachen gegen sie auf, Tag und Nacht, [zum Schutz] vor ihnen.“ Nehemiah 4,1-3


 Wir haben an Tag 7 und 10 gesehen, was der Feind zu tun versucht, um Gottes Werk zu stoppen. Nachdem Sanballat gehört hatte, dass die Juden die Mauer wieder aufbauten und gut unterwegs waren, verspottet er nun die Juden und ihre Arbeit öffentlich. Er ruft andere zusammen, damit sie sich ihm in seinem Versuch anzuschließen, die Menschen einzuschüchtern und zu verspotten, was sie auch zu tun versuchen. Wenn der Feind dich nicht privat aufhalten kann, wird er versuchen, dies in der Öffentlichkeit zu tun. Er wird andere um sich versammeln, um uns einzuschüchtern und zu demütigen, so dass wir aufhören, Gottes Willen zu tun. Unser Kampf ist nicht gegen Fleisch und Blut, sondern gegen "geistliche Kräfte des Bösen in den himmlischen Orten" (siehe Eph 6,12).


Der Feind will, dass du glaubst, du seist unbedeutend und machtlos . Er wird dir Lügen in deine Gedanken einpflanzen und dich dazu bringen, die Worte und Taten der Menschen entsprechend zu interpretieren. Die Art und Weise, wie wir auf Menschen reagieren, offenbart die Wurzel dessen, was wir über uns selbst glauben. Die Wahrheit ist, dass du in Christus signifikant und mächtig bist. Du bist für Gott so wertvoll, dass Er dir Seine Gegenwart und Kraft anvertraut hat. Denke darüber nach! Auch wenn es scheinbar viele Stimmen gegen dich gibt: "Viele Wasser können die Liebe nicht löschen; Flüsse können sie nicht wegwaschen" (Hohelied 8,7). Bleib fest in der Liebe zu Gott und deiner Identität in Jesus und lehne die Einschüchterung und Lügen des Feindes ab. Deklariere, dass du in deinem Leben mächtig und bedeutsam bist und fest in Gottes Wahrheit stehst. "Widersteht dem Feind, so  wird er vor euch fliehen" (Jakobus 4,7). Kind Gottes, du bist mächtig und bedeutsam. Gehe heute in dieser wunderbaren Wahrheit voran!

Day 10

“But when Sanballat the Horonite, Tobiah the Ammonite official and Geshem the Arab heard about it, they mocked and ridiculed us. ‘What is this you are doing?’ they asked. ‘Are you rebelling against the king?’ I answered them by saying, ‘The God of heaven will give us success.
