"O Lord, God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and obey his commands, let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear the prayer your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the people of Israel." Nehemiah 1:5,6 Effective prayer begins with our knowledge of God, the ways of God and the will of God. When we pray according to how God has revealed Himself to us personally, we can pray with confidence. Nehemiah knows God as the Lord, God of heaven, the great and awesome God who keeps His covenant of love with those who love Him and obey His commands. Nehemiah has revelation of the greatness of his covenant God who is faithful to those who love Him and obey Him.
